11th Annual Forum of the EUSDR

The Annual Forum of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region is the largest event for the participating countries to discuss the results of the year and strengthen cooperation between the EUSDR priority areas’ stakeholders. In 2022 Ukraine has become the first non-EU country to preside in the Strategy.

Ukraine has successfully launched the presidency after the programme presentation in Kyiv. Ukraine has set two central priorities for the Presidency: Sustainable Development of the Danube Region: Decarbonization and Economic Transformation, Development of Human Capital and Labor Markets.

However, on February 24, 2022, the Russian Federation launched an illegal and unprovoked military invasion of Ukraine. This has posed a number of new challenges for Europe and particularly for the Danube Strategy.

Given the situation, this year the Forum will be organized by the TRIO Presidency (Ukraine, the Republic of Slovenia and the Slovak Republic), the European Commission, the Danube Transnational Program and with the support of the DSP.
The purpose of the event is to discuss the challenges the region has faced in 2022, to find new solutions and rapid responses, and to exchange best practices. Besides it is worth deepening cooperation between the member states of the Strategy in areas most affected by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, coronavirus pandemic and climate change.

Date of the Forum: 19/10/2022 – 20/10/2022
